Top Millennial Site Names Their Eight Favorite Vegan Meats

Pop Sugar, a millennial driven, lifestyle and pop-culture focused buzz website recently named their top eight vegan meats. The site listed everything from hot dogs and smoky, maple bacon, to flaky chicken tenders. The team at Pop Sugar cautioned carnovores saying these cruelty free products “will fool diehard meat eaters.”

This is fantastic exposure as Pop Sugar reaches more than 100 million people globally. Appetite For Peace staff agrees whole-heartedly with their first selection, which was Gardein’s “finger-lickin’ good” Seven Grain Crispy Tenders. Pop Sugar says that these rival KFC’s Extra Crispy Tenders “in a heartbeat,” but we think they destroy KFC ‘s competition.

Lightlife Organic Fakin’ Bacon Tempeh Strips were also praised for their maple-smokehouse flavor and use of organic, non-GMO soybeans. Beyond Meat’s Beast Burger was called “The Ultimate Veggie Burger.” Again, we sing the praises of their selection as we featured this awesome beast of a veggie burger last week.

Furthermore, Lightlife scored a second mention for its Jumbo Smart Dogs, and Tofurky’s versatile Oven-Roasted Deli Slices were suggested for an integral part for an office lunch or for an “ultimate leftover Thanksgiving sandwich.” Gardein bookended the list of meat-free picks with its Classic Meatless Meatballs thanks to its easy preparation and 15 grams of protein. These are all great picks, but we want to ask you what your favorites are.

Carnivores need to get use to the idea of eating plant based “meats.” Not only is it a necessity for the sustainability of animal populations, but scientists and experts agree that plant based food is the future.
