It has been over a year now since Impossible Foods first teased us with first mention of the Impossible Burger. What is it you ask? Well, it is a plant-based patty that cooks, smells, tastes, and even bleeds like real meat. In the past 400 days or so, we have found out that heme is the unicorn-like magical ingredient that makes this burger so juicy. You know you made it big when Google tried to buy you out.
We have heard folklore about how the patties sizzle and ooze at from some of the top chefs in the business. We have waited as patiently as we could. We are next level excited; as if Bigfoot arrived wearing a tuxedo riding the Loch Ness Monster. Well, great news, the time is now! The Impossible Burger is finally being unveiled tomorrow, July 27th. It will be debuting at the famous Momofuku Nishi restaurant in Manhattan, New York!
So, how did a vegan burger, of all things, end up on the meat-centric menu at Momofuku? Well, it’s simple really. David Chang, Founder and Chef of Momofuku, tried the patty back in May and promptly declared that the burger “might just change the whole game.” We agree Mr Chang!
We think this is the start of a plant based revolution. The Impossible Burger may just be one of the deciding factors for people that have considered going pant based. Since people are not going to stop having multiple children any time soon, we have to address the food needed for an ever-growing population. We may be one step closer now thanks to the Impossible Burger.
